Progreso, TX – Jesus Soto, 80, passed away to be with the Lord, Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at his residence. Mr. Soto was born March 14, 1940 to Francisco & Maria Isabel Soto in Guanajuato Mexico and was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Tomasa I. Soto & 2 sisters, Teresa Garza & Francisca Contreras.
Mr. Soto is survived by his wife, Maria Alicia Soto of Progreso, TX; 2 sons, Jesse Junior Soto of Harlingen, TX, Frank Soto of Austin, TX; 3 daughters, Tammy Trevino of Harlingen, TX, Maria Pilar Sauer of Beeville, TX, Maria Viola Medina of Progreso, TX; 1 brother, Pedro Tomas Soto of Tacoma, WA & 3 sisters, Maria Luisa Valdez of Progreso, TX, Ramona S. Curiel of Corpus Christi, TX & Emma Soto of Mission, TX. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren & 3 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, May 14, 2020 at Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco – Chapel of The Angels with a 7:00 p.m. rosary.
Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2020 at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeremiah Alcala, Isaac Soto, Joseph Trevino, Gabriel Valdez, Eloy Trevino & Lucas Steen.
