Christopher “Chris” Scott Dawson, age 52 of Hurt died Thursday, May 14, 2020 at his residence.
Born February 8, 1968 in Lynchburg, he was a son of the late Larry Dean Dawson and Martha Hall Dawson.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Ashley Rebekah Dawson; and an infant brother, Larry Dean Dawson, Jr.
Mr. Dawson was a former employee of Asplundh. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, floating the river, and riding the four-wheeler.
He is survived by one daughter, Danielle Stanley and husband, Blaine of Madison Heights; one son, Christopher Dawson of the residence; two brothers, Todd Dawson and fiancée, Brandi Minton of Hurt, and Brad Dawson and fiancée, Teri Tomlinson of Hurt; his fiancée, Denise Barker of the residence; three grandchildren, Hayden Barker, Jaxon Stanley, and Ashley Grace Stanley; an aunt, Gwen Goggin of Hurt; and cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2020 at Monte Vista Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Wyatt Miles IV. Colbert-Moran Funeral Home, Gretna is assisting the family.
