Henrietta Wright Alexander went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 12, 2020.

Henrietta was born June 21, 1930, in Kirks Grove Alabama to the late Mark and Glennie A. (Booker) Wright.

Henrietta was a graduate of Cherokee County High School in Centre AL, and a graduate of the Crawford County Vo-Tech Nurse’s Aide training program.

She was married to the late Holcy Alexander on April 17, 1960 in Centre, AL. After marriage, the couple moved to Meadville.

As a part of the Meadville community, Henrietta was active in many different organizations including Cub Scouts, Meadville Head Start, NAACP, YWCA Board, and the Towne Club. She was a Worthy Matron of Abigail Chapter #22 OES and a member of the Golden Circle. Henrietta was a faithful member of Bethel A.M.E. church where she served the Lord in many capacities including Sunday School teacher, Superintendent of the Sunday School, stewardess, usher, and a member of the Missionary Society. She was also a long-time member of the Senior Choir.

Henrietta worked for many years at Meadville City Hospital, now Meadville Medical Center. After leaving there, she worked as a Day Care Home Provider taking care of young children.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mark and Glennie Wright, her husband Holcy, brothers Joe, James, Percy, R.C., J.D., Ray, Ted, and Henry, sisters Anne Lou Price, Cleo Ragland, Charlsie Starr-Horne, and Dorothy Batie.

She leaves behind to celebrate her life a daughter; Traci (Kevin) Balsamo, a son David A. (Lysandra) Alexander and a grandson Holcy A. Furlong, three sisters; W Ruth Wright, Yvonne Miller, and Mildred (H.C.) Johnson. four sisters-in-law; Alberta Wright, Gloria Wright, Agnes Wright and Jeannette Wright, and a multitude of nieces and nephews.

While practicing social distancing, visitation will be held on Friday, May 15, 2020, from 6-8 PM at STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 404 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE.

A Home Going Service will be held on Saturday at 11 AM and will be live streamed via our Facebook page (Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc.) Please be present in prayer.
