Sarah Permelia Carr, Wray was born in Overton County, TN. She married Thomas Jefferson Wray in Oct 1884 in Overton Co. They migrated to Estelline, Texas, Hall Co)ard 1891 in a covered wagon along w/ other families. They lived there 3-4 years and moved to Davis, OK (Indian Territory at the time) From there they moved to Dekalb, Texas, Bowie Co. abt 1917. Thomas and Sarah had 7 children,

John Kennedy Wray
Sarah was visiting her children in Howard Co when she fell ill w/ a kidney problem. She was sick 8 days and passed away. She did not want to be embalmed so that is why she is buried in Mt Olive Cem rather than in Woodmen Cem, in Bowie Co. beside her husband. Her parents were William Carr and Eliza Jane Copeland, Carr, Cannon. Her obit said she was a good kind woman. She was 25 years younger than Thomas. Thomas had 4 children by his 1st wife who passed away sometime after 1880.
