PINNACLE, N.C. — Mr. Stephen "Steve" Richard Frank, age 86, of 1942 Oscar Frye Road, Pinnacle, died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007, at Forsyth Medical Center.

He was born March 21, 1921, in New Brighton, Pa., to the late Josef and Theresa Veber Frank.

Mr. Frank retired from General Motors.

He was a founder and member of the Volunteer Fire Department in Washingtonville, Ohio, for 29 years and a member of the Rock House Ruritan Club for 10 years. He was an avid reader, a lifelong fisherman and hunter and of the Catholic faith.

He is survived by his loving wife and best friend for 56 years, Laura Margaret Wolfe Frank of the home. Mr. Frank was a loving and devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Also surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, LuAnn and Mike Gallo, Winston-Salem, N.C.; sons and daughters-in-law, Eric and Pia Frank, Pinnacle, N.C., Vaughn Frank; Pinnacle, N.C., Brent and Doris Frank, West Lafayette, Ohio, and Scott Frank, Pinnacle, N.C.; grandchildren, Nicole Buffone and husband, John, Leetonia, Ohio, Misti Frank and fiancé, Russell Boring, Auburn Township, Ohio, and Andrew Gallo, Winston-Salem, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Shane, Cierra, Nakoa, Anna and Joby, and a sister, Rose Woods, Muncy, Pa.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Frank was preceded in death by sisters. Matilda DeLauder and Josephine Longbottom, and brothers, John and Joseph Frank.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, at Brims Grove Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Gerald Jones with interment to follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 17, at Howell-Nelson Funeral Home of Pilot Mountain.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Brims Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 3509 NC 268 Hwy E., Pilot Mountain, NC 27041.
