Ann Hills Bucklin peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, March 31, 2020. She was born May 23, 1932, to Herbert and Mildred (Lamson) Hills. She graduated from Crosby High in 1950, where she was an avid member of the 4-H Club. She grew up with nine brothers and sisters. She married Ralph E. Bucklin in 1953.

Ann worked in a variety of jobs, working on Karl Wentworth’s farm, at his laundromat, and in the family animal shelter, and later becoming clerk and treasurer for the town of Belmont.

She was a gifted seamstress and made many pillows and quilts for her children and grandchildren. She worked for many years at Creative Apparel in Belmont. Ann was a member of Morrill Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, and 5 Day Clubs. She always faithfully supported a number of missionaries throughout her life.

Ann had a love for flower gardens and animals. In more recent years, she could often be found watching birds and chasing squirrels from her feeders. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was truly intentional about keeping in touch with her family and friends, always sending cards and words of encouragement.

She is survived by her children, Ben Bucklin and wife Jan, Marlene Bennett, and Tom Bucklin and wife Gail; her grandchildren, Paul Cushman and wife Amanda, Cheri Cushman, Matthew Bennett and wife Christina, Hannah Bennett, William Bucklin and wife Katie, Benjamin Bucklin, Jessica Bucklin and Jacob Bucklin. She is survived by great-grandchildren Melanie, Luke, Sarah, Jacob, Thea and Theodore; along with two great- great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Glen Hills, Basil Hills and Carl Hills and sisters-in-law Ann Canning, Lucille Pica and Barbara Hills; beloved niece Cathy Clark Burcham; as well as by many loved nieces and nephews.

Ann was predeceased by her husband of 23 years, Ralph Bucklin, daughter Linda Bucklin, and grandson Donnie Cushman, along with her siblings Richard Hills (killed in action in World War II), Raymond Hills, Helen (Hills) Clark, Francis (Hills) Rumney, Evelyn Hills and Marie (Hills) Clark.

Visiting hours for Ann and her celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The family would like to thank Waldo County General Hospital and Harbor Hill Center for their caring support in her final days. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Camp Fair Haven Camper Scholarships in Brooks. For more information, contact Riposta Funeral Home, Belfast.
