MIDDLETOWN--Alvia E. Ashton, 87, Anderson, retired farmer, died Sunday in New Port Richey, Fla. He was a member of Middletown Sixth Street Christian Church and was a former Delco-Remy employe.
He is survived by a son, Morris Ashton, Anderson; a daughter, Mrs. Vernon VanVant, Anderson; a half-sister, Mrs. Elsie Loudenback, Anderson; eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Ballard and Shirey Funeral Home, Middletown, after 2 p.m. Tuesday. Services will be there at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Harold Chattin officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
