MIDDLETOWN--Mrs. Rose Ashton, 73, RR 4, Anderson, died Thursday night at her summer residence on Jewett Lake near Messick, Mich., following a heart attack. She was a member of the Sixth Street Christian Church in Middletown, and a member of the Valley Grove Home Economics Club.
Survivors include her husband, Alvan; a son, Morris, RR 1, Anderson; a daughter, Mrs. Vernon VanZant, RR 1, Anderson; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Mr. Lenna Carruthers, Rock Island, Ill., and Mrs. Lefe Wolfe, Springport.
Funeral services were at the Ballard and Shirey Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Monday, with Rev. J. Jubert Smith of the Sixth Street Christian Church, officiating. Burial followed in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Anderson.
