Rose Louise Bannister Teeter peacefully passed at home the morning of November 29th. The daughter of the late Edward and Hazel Hamilton Bannister was born March 29, 1926. A lifelong Ithaca resident, she graduated from Ithaca High School and retired from Challenge Industries where she worked for over 25 years with disabled adults. She was a generous, kind soul who was not happy unless she was active. She enjoyed crafts, camping, fishing, reading and blue grass music. She was always sewing, crocheting or knitting something. She adored all animals especially her Pomeranians. She was an avid walker who befriended everyone she encountered on her journeys. She loved traveling throughout the states visiting all her nieces and nephews. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be forever missed by all who knew her. Rose is survived by her sister, Edna Bannister Schilling, her two grandchildren Tabitha Teeter King (Michael King) and Dallas W. Teeter (Paula Teeter) and her great-granddaughter, Brittney Teeter. Her son, Dallas E. Teeter predeceased her as well as her husband Herbert Teeter and her sister, May Bannister Vollmer. In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to Hospicare. The family will receive friends at the Herson-Wagner Funeral Home 110 S. Geneva St. Ithaca N.Y. on Thursday, December 7, from 10:30 till the time of service. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Frear Cemetery.
