Leon Russell Jackson passed away in his sleep on April 30, 2020 (age 91). He was born June 28, 1928 in Pleasant Grove, UT to Leon and Violet Jackson. Russ grew up on the family farm where they grew potatoes and strawberries.

He graduated from Pleasant Grove High School and enlisted in the Army directly after. He served in the Army from September 1946 to February 1948. While serving he earned decoration and citations; Army of Occupation Medal Japan, and World War II Victory Medal.

After being Honorably Discharged he enrolled in Utah State University where he earned his degree in Heating and Refrigeration which he made his career.

He is preceded in death by his parents Leon and Violet Jackson, wife Carol, sister Gloria Jackson, and his brothers; Gene Jackson, Paul Jackson and Morris Jackson. He is survived by his sisters; Colleen (Fred) Rice of Portland OR. Catherine (Ralph) Simpson of Portland OR. his seven children; Vickie (Ralph) Ekins of Springville, UT. Dale (Russ) and Jacky Jackson of Ontario, OR. Cherie (Michael) Clements of Eagle Mountain, UT. Shelley (Kim) Shumway of Vernon, UT. Kyle (Jolene) Jackson of Nephi, UT. Camille Bosch of Pleasant Grove, UT. and Jeff Jackson of West Valley City, UT. and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A small family service will be held May 7, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the Utah Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Camp Williams, Bluffdale, Utah. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
