Laura Grace “Gracie” Pearson McGrew, age 83 of Hendersonville died Friday, September 16th, 2016 at the Laurels of Hendersonville. She was born June 5th, 1933 in Buncombe County; a daughter of the late, Raymond Kenneth and Hattie Lee Spivey Pearson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Lewis McGrew in 1993; four brothers, Dennis, Douglas and Gerald Pearson, and Carl White; and two sisters, Naomi Cannon and Barbara Baker.
Gracie was employed as a Seamstress with Dry Cleaning Businesses throughout the community and was a member of Tracy Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Jamie Thompson and his wife, Cheryl and Larry Thompson and his wife, Teresa all of Hendersonville; six grandchildren; special granddaughter, Blair Moreno; numerous great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Brown and husband, James Kay and Linda Rogers and husband, Gary both of Brevard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, September 22nd, 2016 at Tracy Grove Baptist Church officiated by the Reverend Mike Rogers and Reverend Randy Barton.
Gracie was employed as a Seamstress with Dry Cleaning Businesses throughout the community and was a member of Tracy Grove Baptist Church.
