John, "Buster" enjoyed fishing, showing his cars and spending time with his grandchildren. In the early 1990's John, alongside his father and loving wife started Forrest Sewer Pump Service. John was a very proud man who carried on his father's business and turned it into the company that it is today. In John's early years he served in the United States Marine Corps as a Sergeant. He also worked for the city of Virginia Beach for 23 years in the Department of Automotive Services. He was a great story teller and could sit for hours telling old Marine Corps stories or jokes. He loved to make people laugh and would give you the shirt off his back.
Left to honor his memory is his wife and "girlfriend" Rhonda; his children, Brande Rumpf (Tracy), Brittney Brathwaite (Shaun), Kim Bratley (Mike), and Kristopher Northrup (Michelle); grandchildren, Trey, Alyse, Alan, Julie, Prestyn, Myles, Hai Yan, Mandy, and Jenna; his great-granddaughter, Penelope along with his loving sisters Jackie Francisco (Ward), and Sharron Williams as well as many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Princess Anne Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Saint Mary's Home.
