Pastor. Radio Announcer. Business Owner. Legend. He was a native of Birmingham and had a passion for serving others, whether from the pulpit or as an endearing radio announcer. Dr. Faush graduated Parker High School and further matriculation was done at Faith College and Alabama State with divinity degrees earned at Union Seminary and Livingstone College. With a lifelong membership at Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, he began his ministerial career there as Minister of Music and later pastored Mt. Herman then Trinity AME Zion Churches. He would later become Pastor of Metropolitan for 21 years and retired as Presiding Elder in the Birmingham District, North Alabama Conference. His radio career began in 1950 at WBCO-AM in Bessemer. Dr. Faush was given the opportunity to showcase genuine love of gospel music by way of "Gospel Cavalcade". It was signature baritone voice that touch so many souls through the airways on WATV, 900 AM inviting listeners to "Sick Call", a segment devoted to praying for others. Remembering his love and monumental legacy is wife, Audrey Brantley Faush; children, Anita Hamilton, Brenda and Erskine "Chuck" Faush, Jr. Life Celebration is Noon Thursday at Metropolitan AME Zion, 1530 4th Avenue, North Birmingham. Inhumation follows at Elmwood. Calling Hours: Wednesday 10:00 until 3:00 at Metropolitan then 5:00 until 8:00 at Johnson Memorial, Bessemer.
