Donnellson, Ill – John L. “Jack” Huddleston, age 83 of Donnellson, Ill, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at his residence.

Jack was born in Sorrento, Ill on September 12, 1935, a son of John H. and Violet (Henderson) Huddleston. He attended schools in Sorrento, graduating from Sorrento High School.

Mr. Huddleston faithfully served his country in the U.S. Navy for 23 years, serving during the Korean and the Vietnam Wars. While serving in the Navy, Jack studied Mechanical Engineering, obtaining his Bachelor’s Degree.

Following his service, Jack was Superintendent of Transit System for the City of Albuquerque, NM.

He and his wife, Carol had lived in Bowdoin, ME for a short period of time.

He is predeceased by his first wife, Virginia (Sinclair) Huddleston who died January 11, 1992, and his second wife, Carol (Linn) Huddleston who died on April 21, 2005; a brother, Rudy Huddleston; a special brother-in-law, Charles Compton; and a sister, Margaret Alben.

He is survived by two step-sons, Roger W. King and his partner, Faye of Topsham, and Clayton King and his wife, Melinda of Rio Rancho, NM; a brother, Douglas Huddleston and his wife, Lucy of El Cajon, CA; and a sister, Levena Compton of Donnellson, Ill; nieces and nephews.
