Phyllis Raye Searcy, 80, of Crossett passed away on April 27, 2020. She was born in Monroe, Louisiana on September 19, 1939, and was the youngest of Fred Robert and Ardeice Weems McLeod’s eight children. She lived in Crossett most of her life, raising her five children and devoting herself completely to her family which she adored.
Despite a twenty-year battle with medical issues, Phyllis remained strong, displaying immense courage without abandoning her sense of humor and longing to help those in need.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Tom Searcy, along with her seven siblings.
She is survived by her five children, Ann Rickman, of Crossett, Felicia Jones (Steve) of Hot Springs, Melissa Nix (Mike) of Crossett, and Heath and Michelle Meeks also of Crossett; special grandchildren, Dana Rickman and Dustin Farnell; special great-grandchildren, Daisy Rickman and Ryder Farnell; along with numerous step children, other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 30, 2020, with Bro. James Fleming, officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Shane Rickman, Jerrick Rickman, Gunner Jones, Jacob Meeks, Tristan Hinton, and Dustin Farnell.
