Lady Cicely Alice Gore was the second daughter of Arthur Gore, 5th Earl of Arran, and his first wife, the Hon. Edith Elizabeth Henrietta Jocelyn. She was married on May 17, 1887 at St. Margaret's Church, Westminster to James Edward Hubert Gascoyne-Cecil, Viscount Cranborne, the future 4th Marquess of Salisbury. She served as a Lady of the Bedchamber to Queen Alexandra, 1907-1910; was was appointed an Officer of the Order of St John of Jerusalem; and served as a Justice of the Peace for Hertfordshire.
