Harold was born on his father's homestead on the prairie near Coronation, Alberta, Canada. After his father died, his mother, who was born in Olive Bridge, Ulster County, NY, took her children in 1930 to live in Washingtonville, NY, where one of her sisters resided.
He served in France & Germany during WWll as a trained radio operator with the forward observer crew. (882nd Army field artillery C battery)
After the War, Harold apprenticed with the Wood, Wire & Metal Lathers Union that led to a career in the building trades. Eventually he became Secretary-Treasurer of the Union.
He retired from the US Dept. of Labor as a Federal Mediator in 1981.
He died in Ft Pierce, Florida
