Opal Anderson Bickerstaff, age 93, entered heaven on Monday, June 30, 2008. She was the daughter of Rebecca Ellen Sauder Anderson of Chicago, Illinois and J.B. Anderson of Fort Worth, Texas. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Bickerstaff. Mother of Richard, Loretta and Gerald Bickerstaff. Also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was born February 2, 1915 in Comanche, Oklahoma. Opal was a retired school teacher and very active in the Central Baptist Church and President of the Baptist Women's Missionary Union.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral service at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 5100 Pontchar-train Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 11:00am. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 9:00am until service time.
