Wyatt Easterling, aged 44, one of the best known lawyers and citizens of Meridian and this section, prominent in Masonic and other secret orders and fraternal circles, died at the family home, 1216 Twenty-first avenue, Saturday night at 10 o'clock, following an illness of several months. Mr. Easterling was a native of Newton county, but had been a resident of Meridian from boyhood attending the Meridian public schools. He received his degree in law at Cumberland University and was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity at that university and was a successful practitioner in this city and immediate section.

Surviving the deceased are his widow, Mrs. Mary C. Easterling; daughter, Irene; mother, Mrs. Sara Easterling of Hickory, Miss.; brother, T. E. Easterling; sisters, Mrs. W. W. Bishop and Mrs. N. L. Easterling, Hickory; mother-in-law, Mrs. Irene Chapman.

Hold Funeral Sunday the funeral service was held at five o'clock Sunday afternoon from the James F. Webb home, Dr. A. F. Watkins, pastor of Central Methodist church, and the Rev. J. L. Smith, pastor of Hawkins Memorial Methodist church, conducting the religious service, while the graveside service at Magnolia cemetery was conducted by Meridian Lodge No. 308, F. and A. M. King Solomon Lodge No. 333; John L. Spinks Lodge No. 507 and Oakland Heights Lodge No. 577. The active pallbearers were as follows W. D. Hawkins, D. P. Dear, V. W. Gilbert, M. L. Bounds, A. B. Amis, Jr., Allan McCants, Ben F. Cameron and Edward Snow. The honary, pallbearers were members of the Meridian Bar association.
