Richard F. Drake 67, of Danville, died at 5:06 p.m. Sunday (Aug 6, 1995) at USMC Logan Campus.

He was born Jan. 11, 1928 in Danville, the son of Elmer and Ethel Miller Drake. He attended Oaklawn Grade School, graduated from Danville High School in 1946 and attended Bradley University. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict and had worked at McCalman, F.L. Jacobs, Henry Bireline Roofing and retired from Berkeley-Davis after 33 years. He attended St. Pauls's Catholic Church and was a member of the American Broadhead Collector's club and was a former member of the Moose Lodge and American Legion. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, broadhead collecting, model building, stamp and coin collectiong, archery, camping and traveling.

He loved life, his family and his grandchildren and teaching his family all the wonderful things he knew. Through his eyes and heart, he showed his family how good life can be.

He married Lucy Marandola May 24, 1953, in New York. She survives, Also surviving: three sons, Richard L. (Susan) Drake, Tim (Connie Wilcoxen) Drake and Ron (Teresa) Drake; seven grandchildren, Philip, Andrew, Vincent, Anthony, Thomas, Daniel and Desire; two brothers, Harold Sr. (Reba) and Glenn; four sisters, Anna Ford, Helen (Jerry) DeWitt, Dorothy Trinkle and Rosemary (Mike) Baker; two brothers-in-law, Ben and Anthony Marandola; sisters-in-law, Esther (Gasper) Barcia and Marie (James) Garrett.

Memorial services: 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Pape Memorial Home & Gardens; Officiating: Rev. R. Anthony Lee; Memorias may be made to the Richard F. Drake Scholarship Fund.
