Mr. John David Spears, 71, of Georgetown, Georgia, died Sunday, April 12, 2020, at his residence in Georgetown.

A private graveside service was held in Garden Hills Cemetery in Opelika, Alabama. The Rev. Chris Toole officiated with Chapman Funeral Home of Eufaula directing.

Born September 16, 1948 in Ft. Benning, Georgia, Mr. Spears was the son of Nellie Crews Spears and the late Roy Bruce Spears, Sr..

Survivors other than his mother include his wife: Tammy Spears of Georgetown, Georgia; 3 daughters: Jennifer (Mark) Janetty of Nashville, Tennessee, Kellie (Steve) Alms of Mooresville, North Carolina, Courtney (Tony) Manglass of Mooresville, North Carolina; 2 step-daughters: Amanda (Tim) Cowles of Vonore, Tennessee, Amber (Stuart) Landreau of Wedowee, Alabama; 9 grandchildren: Lauren Janetty, Emily Janetty, Conner Alms, Rylie Alms, Parker Manglass, Jackson Manglass, Kennedy Manglass, Cora Baldwin, Colby Landreau; 2 brothers: Roy B. “Moose” (Sheila) Spears of Dothan, Alabama, Eddie (Rhonda) Spears of Geneva, Alabama; several nieces and nephews.
