Albert A. Allegretti, age 91 of Meadville, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018 at the Crawford County Care Center.

He was born May 2, 1926 in Meadville, the son of the late Patsy Allegretti and Jeanette Cumero Allegretti. He married Elizabeth J. Spisak in 1952. She passed in 1963. He subsequently married Lois Shea on August 29, 1967: she survives.

Albert graduated from Meadville High School. He was of the Catholic Faith. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army having served in the Battle of the Bulge and then in the military government. While in the military, he received a bronze star. He was a member of the VFW Post 2006 in Meadville. Albert had owned Allegretti’s Bar, Mona Lisa, and was a partner in Pat and Pete’s Mobile home. He also worked as a driver for Weber Harris for 20 years. Albert had helped build a Navy Base in Cancun for the Mexican Military. He was also a member of the ICC in Meadville, Station 3, the BPOE #219, a very good golfer, national sporting ability, senior league for bowling and a wonderful cook. Albert’s ability to lighten the mood by making people laugh will be missed.

Albert is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lois Allegretti of Meadville, three sons: Albert P. Allegretti and his wife Krista, Meadville, Mark Groover, Meadville, and Brian Groover and his wife Karen, Meadville, two daughters: Beverly Rappa and her husband Sam, Meadville, Brenda Wood, Meadville, , thirteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and his first wife, Albert was preceded in death by a sister: Gloria Brunot.

A future graveside service will be published in the near future.

Burial will be in St. Brigids Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
