In the years following the Revolution, Edmund was the proprietor of Taylor's Tavern, which served as the Taylor family home, a place of entertainment and accomodation for travelers, and a local public meeting place. Edmund's gravestone, still standing on the grounds of his tavern, reads "In Memory of Edmund Taylor 'The Honest Tavern Keeper' ". Taylor's Tavern was located on Gum Tree Road (now State Road 738) on land owned by the Sacra family since before The War Between The States.
