Curtis James Matlock, passed away August 9, 2007 at the age of 29. Curtis who attended Flour Bluff High School was phenomenally gifted as a handyman who could fix anything for anyone regardless of the malfunction. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed his time cruising along the open road. Recently he took up the sport of surfing and thoroughly enjoyed his time riding the waves. He was employed as a journeyman for Design Electric where he was widely respected by his co-workers. Most importantly Curtis was a devoted family man who adored and dearly loved his children. Curtis will be significantly missed by his colleagues, friends, and family. He is survived by his wife Jessica; two daughters, Cayce and Crystin Matlock, and a step-daughter Kaitlynn Marshall; his parents, Wayne and Ann Matlock; his three sisters, Terry (Jeff) Barrick, Amy Matlock, Lori (Chad) Slough; two paternal grandparents, W.C. Matlock and Doris Hart; three uncles, James (Janie) Johnson, Bill (Sandra) Dossat, David (Rosella) Johnson; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Curtis was a good friend of mine. He was always willing to lend a hand to help someone. I will miss him dearly. After attending his funeral today I know I am not alone with my feelings and my loss. He touched many people and will never be forgotten.
