Jeanerette, LA - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. Lonnie Mae Gibson, 86, the former Lonnie Mae Francis at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church with Fr. Francis Damoah, Celebrant.

She will await the resurrection at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery in Jeanerette, LA.

A gathering of family and friends will begin at 8:00 A.M. Saturday at the church until time of service with a rosary recited at 9:00 A.M.

A resident of Jeanerette, LA, she passed at 9:08 A.M. Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at her residence.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church where she was a member of the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxillary Council 184. In addition, she was a member of the Harry Eugene Post 549, Ladies Auxillary.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Mr. Wilton James Gibson, Sr. of Jeanerette, LA; three sons, Wilton James Gibson, Jr. (Darlene) of Jeanerette, LA, Ronald Ray Gibson, Sr. (Nettie) of Jacksonville, FL and Gerald Joseph Gibson (Frederica) of New Iberia, LA; two daughters, Laverne Ashley (Quintin) of New Iberia, LA and Delores Gibson of Jeanerette, LA; one sister, Harriet Anthony of Youngsville, LA, sixteen grandchildren, thirty three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald Francis, Sr. and Ethel Lewis Francis; four brothers, Clifton Francis, Milton Francis, John Francis and Gerald Francis, Jr. and three sisters, Octavia Alexander, Beatrice Eaglin and Jean Ashley.

Active Pallbearers are Sedric Ashley, Dwan Gibson, Kendrick Gibson, Ronald Ray Gibson, Jr., Jamal Gibson and Chris Gonsoulin.

Honorary Pallbearers are Wilton James Gibson, Jr., Ronald Ray Gibson, Sr., Gerald Joseph Gibson, Quintin Ashley, James “T.K” Alexander, Vernon Francis, Ronald Campbell, Alfred Anthony and Horace Bonhomme.
