Estella Van Egeren, 95, Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 10, 2000, at home. Estella was born on Oct. 17, 1904, in Green Bay, the daughter of the late Peter and Emma (De Land) Basten. She was a graduate of Saint Joseph Academy. Estella married William F. Van Egeren. William preceded her in death on July 4, 1975.
Estella loved her family and cherished the moments spent with them. She enjoyed helping others and loved filling the role as a caregiver.
Estella is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Emily and Jerry Rhodes, Green Bay; two grandchildren, Lynn Rhodes, Green Bay; Jerry and Jo Rhodes Jr., Green Bay; one brother, Gordon Basten, Suring; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Alice; four brothers, Peter, Harold, Marvin and Walter.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2000 at Schauer & Schumacher Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Ave. Parish Wake Service 8 p.m. at the funeral home. There will be no visitation the day of the service. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Frances Xavier Cathedral, 140 S. Monroe Ave., on Thursday, June 15, 2000, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Thomas Farrell officiating. Burial at Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
