Mr. McCoy was a native of Mire, LA and a lifelong resident of Carencro, LA where he was a parishioner of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church. He was a sharecropper for 35 years and also worked for Saul Sonnier Real Estate for 10 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and playing cards with his family and friends. His favorite pastime was watching the Lifetime channel and daytime soap opera – The Young and the Restless.
Survivors include his children: seven sons, Johnny McCoy and his wife, Tephanie, of Lafayette, LA, Martin McCoy and his wife, Paulette, of Jennings, LA, Moses McCoy and his wife, Latoya, of Port Neches, TX, Gabriel McCoy of Carencro, LA, Arthur McCoy, Jr. and his wife, Renee, of Lafayette, LA, Davey McCoy of Carencro, LA, and Johnnie Dixon of Carencro, LA; four daughters, Sandra Comeaux and her husband, Dwayne, of Lafayette, LA, Mary Woods and her husband, William, of Carencro, LA, Tammy McCoy of Carencro, LA, and Amy Marshall and her husband, Jamie, of Carencro, LA; forty-two grandchildren; fifty-eight great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Virginia Hebert; his parents, Moise and Mary (Angelle) McCoy; two daughters, Diane Bruno and Virginia Henry; one son, Tony McCoy; four grandsons, Nathaniel McCoy, Christopher Lee Henry, Sr., Jalen McCoy, and Zachery Woods; and one great grandson, Alex Fox.
Pallbearers will be Kristopher Woods, Kyron Harvey, James Bruno, Davey McCoy, Edward Etienne, III, Devin McCoy and Khristina Woods.
