Howard Schwenn, 54, of 5726 Russett Rd., Madison, died Friday (July 23, 1971) in a Madison hospital after a long illness. A lifelong resident of the Middleton and Madison area, he was employed as an insurance underwriter in Madison for 20 years. He also was employed by the Olin Corp. of Baraboo as a propellant engineer. He was a member of VFW Post 1318, Madison, and was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 5701 Raymond Rd. Surviving are is wife, Lorraine; a son, Stephen, and three daughters, Sandra, Jacklyn, and Patti, all at home; his mother, Mrs. Clarence Field, rural Madison; a brother, Ervin, Waunakee; and three sisters, Mrs. Anita Mathison, 5535 Lake Mendota Dr.; Mrs. Marian Timmons, New Orleans, La.; and Mrs. Angela Marks, Phoenix. Ariz. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the church. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Sunday at the Gruber Funeral Home, Middleton.
