"... She was the daughter of Cudberth Combs and Abigail Trimble. Abigail was a sister to Mary Margaret Trimble, mother of Mary Margaret Combs (agdax). Porters and Combs were neighbors. Hannah was born June 1, 1798. In 1841, John [Samuel Porter] purchased a farm of 214 acres near Eglon, W. Va. from William Chisolm and moved there April 20, of the same year. ..."

Hannah died Feb. 22, 1844, after many years of partial paralysis. She is reported to be buried in Mt. Carmel Cemetery near Aurora, W. Va. (The author was unable, in 1950, to find her tombstone or any record of her grave.)
