Steven Anderson was the son and first born of two children born to Dale Steven Anderson (1934-1997) and Jacqueline Kay Lapham (1940-). Following his parents' divorce, Steven was raised by his mother's second husband, John Alden Shindler (1936-). In 1983, Steven passed away at the young age of twenty-eight, after being diagnosed with cancer. He was survived by his parents, a sister, a half-brother, four step-siblings, and numerous cousins.
