Doris M. Ewald, age 87, of Waupaca, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2020. She was born in Waupaca on July 19, 1932 and graduated from Scandinavia High School. She was a long-time member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. Doris enjoyed cooking, reading, watching TV and visiting with family and friends. For many years, she ran a daycare out of her home, caring for several families over the years.

Doris is survived by two sisters and three brothers: Sonny Snyder, Donna Reierson, Shirley (Sven) Carlson, Ron (Mimi) Snyder and Eugene (Mary) Snyder; four children: Vicki Foster, Steve (Pat) Ewald, Russ (Sandy) Ewald and Rich Ewald; seven grandkids: Christina, David, Jamie (Kris), Ethan, Brent (Jess), Brianna and Jake; and eight great-grandkids: Bryce, Andrew, Hailey E., Matthew, Hayden, Hailey K., Braelynn, and Christian. Doris is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marlyn Ewald; parents, Edwin and Vida Snyder; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Eugene and Tressie Ewald; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Phyllis Snyder, Herman Ewald, Russ (Margaret) Ewald, Loyal (Ester) Ewald, Ruth (Bud) Wilson, Evie (Gib) Hansen, Vonnie (Wally) Wanta and Nina (Gordon) Laabs; as well as two nieces and two nephews.

A memorial service will be held later this summer and burial will take place next to her husband at Lakeside Cemetery in Waupaca.
