Obituary – The Ellis Review-Highlight, September 21, 1894, p. 4

Died, at his late residence near this city, Friday, Sept. 14, W.L. Anderson aged 69 years. Deceased was born in Tennessee in 1825, moved to Illinois when a boy. He served as a soldier during the late war, enlisting in one of the Illinois Regiments. Came to Kansas in 1878 and had been a resident of this city for the past eleven years. He was a loving husband and father and good citizen. He leaves a wife and three children to mourn his loss. The Funeral services were held on Saturday conducted by Rev. Woodward.
On March 27, 1856, William married Miss Elizabeth Jane White. Samuel and Mary were born in Illinois and Dora in Missouri.

At age 39, Pvt. William Andeson enlisted in Co. A 59th IL Infantry and served in the final year of the war.

Samuel (1860-1955) died in California.
