Edwin N. Tangen, 43, 1007 School St., died unexpectedly of a heart attack at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital at 11:30 p.m. Friday, where he had been removed less than and hour earlier when stricken at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Klein & Stangel Inc., Funeral Home, Two Rivers, the Rev. Carl Ipsen officiating. Burial will be in the Forest View Cemetery.

Mr. Tangen was born in Two Rivers on Sept. 22, (sic) 1913, a son of the late Hans and Mrs. Christine Edwardson Tangen. He had attended Washington High School, Two Rivers, and served in the U.S. armed forces in the European Theater in World War II. For a number of years after the war he worked at Milwaukee, and had been an employe of the City of Two Rivers Public Works Dept. for the past seven years. Mr. Tangen was a brother of the late Einar Tange, University of Wisconsin athletic star and later a high school coach.

Surviving Mr. Tangen are his wife, the former Agnes Kust, whom he married at Port Washington, Wis., on May 14, 1949; his mother of Two Rivers; two daughters, Joy and Jenifer; five sisters, Mrs. Arthur Mermuys of Lakewood, Wis., Mrs. Wenzel Kopetsky of Rt. 1, Two Rivers; Mrs. Frederick Kaeser of Tucson, Ariz., Mrs. Norman Johnson of Alemeda, Calif., and Mrs. Vern Tenney of San Matio, Calif., and a sister in law, Mrs. Einar Tangen of Manitowoc.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Monday.
