Elizabeth was born in Herefordshire, England, the daughter of George Christiphier (1825-1853) and Sarah Smith (1826-1912). George and Sarah were married 6 August 1837 in Much Dewchurch, Herefordshire, England. Arthur and Elizabeth had 12 children. George, Charles, Ellen, Emily, Albert, Arthur, and William were born in England. Clifford and James were born in Nova Scotia. Edna and Frances (twins) and Albina were born in Lynn, Mass. By 1900 the family was living on Jasper St. in Saugus, Mass. Elizabeth died May 7, 1904 from Carcinoma of liver. She was buried May 9 at Riverside Cemetery, Saugus, Mass. She had lost 4 of her children before she died.
