Sharon Kathleen Schneider-Barr, 82, of Brunswick, Missouri, passed away Friday, October 12, 2018 at Brunswick Nursing and Rehab. Sharon was born September 16, 1936 in Brunswick, MO; the daughter of William Homer and Gladys Elnora (Riechers) Rogers.
Sharon was a graduate of Brunswick High School, Class of 1955. She attended Fullerton Jr. College in Fullerton, California.
Sharon married John Schneider on June 16, 1961 and he preceded her in death on February 8, 1975. She married Donald Barr on January 10, 1988 and he preceded her in death on November 5, 1989.
Sharon served in the United States Navy as Petty Officer 2nd Class Aviation Storekeeper. She served during the Persian Gulf War and retired in 1996. She was district store supervisor for Colonial Baking Company, in Kansas City, retiring in 1991. In 1991, she moved from Shawnee Kansas to Keytesville, Missouri.
She was a member of the American Legion Post 0021 located in Independence, Missouri. She was involved in the following community organizations: Girl Scouts (neighborhood chairperson), Cub Scouts (den mother), PTA secretary (Kensington Grade School Officer), Navy Sea Cadets instructor, Little league Sea Cadets, Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher at Salisbury United Methodist Church.
Sharon is survived by sons, Edward J. (Laura) Schneider, of Fort Worth, Texas, Wendell "Tony" (DeWana) Schneider of Odessa, Missouri, daughter Anna M. (Paul) Rogers of Kingsland, Georgia; brother Wayne Rogers of Harlingen, Texas; grandsons William, Aaron, Bryan, Justin, Mark, Pete, Jake, David; great grandchildren Ryleigh and Emmett; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, and sister Joanne Campbell
Mom will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.
