He was a native of Swain County, N.C., and was the son of the late George Monroe Woods and Nora Walker Woods.

Mr. Woods was a member of East Belmont Church of God. He was a man of integrity who considered his handshake as his word. Mr. Woods was a loving husband, father, brother and a doting grandfather. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was an avid fisherman.
SURVIVORS: Son, Harold Woods and his wife, Miriam of Flat Rock, Mich.; daughter, Margaret Woods and her husband, John, of the home; sister, Sallie Woods Rogers, of Bryson City; and a heritage of grandchildren.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: Parents; wife, Eliza Marie Hyde Woods; brothers, Horace and Theron Woods; sister, Zell Watson.
