William Devitt "was born October 9th, 1846. He was married to Isabella Steveson. They had a family of one daughter named Magdalena who died January 1st, 1893, aged 21 years and 7 days. Mr. Devitt was a saddler by trade and had his place of business in Berlin [Kitchener] where he died April 10th, 1872, aged 25 years, 6 months, and 1 day."

William Devitt married Isabella Stevenson on March 1, 1870, in Seaforth, Huron County, Ontario. The couple had one child, Magdalena.

In April 1872, William died of typhoid fever at the young age of 25 year. He was buried at First Mennonite Cemetery. In the years following, his daughter, his parents, and several other Devitt relatives were buried close to his grave in the same row.

Isabella married again to Francis Miller on December 1, 1876, in Listowel, Ontario. She died on October 20, 1910. She is buried in Molesworth Cemetery, Huron County, Ontario, beside her second husband.
