Joan made her home in Springfield, VT for many years, moving to Charlestown NH in 1984. She worked at the Springfield Hospital, did housekeeping in the area, and was the librarian in Reading, VT for a number of years.
She loved music and was a member of the Senior Songsters at the Springfield Senior Center for several years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and wrote stories for her grandchildren and other children for many years.
She is survived by her children, 1 son and 1 daughter; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Howard, and also by one sister Margery White.
A graveside service was held at the Oakland Cemetery in Springfield, VT. Reverend Gary Shapiro officiated. Contributions may be made in her name to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield, VT.
