She was born October 20, 1938 at Pinson, the daughter of the late Oscar Joseph and Lucy Elmer Seeley Holder. She went to school at Pinson and married Raymond Greene in 1954. They made their home in Chester County. After rearing her seven children she worked at local garment factories. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church.
She was an awesome cook enjoying baking and taking care of her grandchildren. She loved to sing.
Mrs. Greene is survived by five daughters, Sandra Rinks of Henderson, Debra Henley (Jackie) of Lexington, Patricia Thompson (Randy) of Henderson, Cheryl Cox of Henderson and Lisa Smith Farrow (Greg) of Decaturville; fifteen grandchildren and thirty-three great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Wilford Greene in 2017; two sons, Curtis Greene in 2018 and Anthony Greene in 1992; two son-in-laws, Joe Smith in 2003and Terry Cox in 2019 and four brothers, Leo, Earl, Curtis and Harold Holder and one sister, Annie Ruth Ray.
A family graveside service will be Tuesday at New Friendship Cemetery, with Mark Pendergrass officiating.
