Ray's parents were James Monroe and Bertha Ecklund Carnahan. He married Esther Lance on 6/22/1933.From Dawn Colburn -- Ray was a son of James Monroe Carnahan & Bertha (Ecklund). He had a farm at Lake City and when he picked up his fiddle to play jigs & reels, you couldn't keep your feet still. He and some of his brothers played for dances in their early days. Ray and all of his brothers were baseball players. He played in PA and also in Schuyler County NY where he and Esther lived after their marriage, returning to PA in 1936 when her mother was ill. Ray was also the ultimate baseball fans and wrote articles for a newsletter on the subject.
