Bonnie Lou Allen, 88, of Pekin, passed away at 5:45 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2020 at Pekin Manor Nursing Home. She was born November 30, 1931 in Peoria to Henry B. and Flora M (Irons) Sweet.

She married the love of her life Jackie Lee Allen on January 29, 1949 in Cuba Illinois. He died on October 1, 2013.

Surviving are four daughters, Pam Grace of Pekin, Kathy (Mike) Bannister of Pekin, Janet (Wayne) Stevens of Pekin, Diana Allen of Pekin, one son, Thomas (Diane) Allen of Pekin, one brother in law, Dean (Betty) Allen of Pekin; 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 2 great great-grandchildren.

Bonnie loved to play cards, cook, camp, and spend time with her family. She was known to bowl in couples leagues with her husband Jackie as well as in women’s leagues here in Pekin. In her free time she would can the vegetables grown in their garden by her husband.

Private Burial will be held at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
