Funeral services were held from Enon Baptist Church Saturday for Martin Thomas Bass, respected 73-year-old resident of the Enon community.

Mr. Bass, a native of Southwest Mississippi, succumbed in a Tylertown hospital at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22. He was born Nov. 7, 1877, and was a retired railroad shops worker.

He was first married to Miss Ida Ellen Hammons, in July 1894, and she preceded him in death by 15 years.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Dovie Boyd Bass; two daughters, Mrs. F. P. Blailock and Mrs. Alfred Kirkfield, both of McComb; four sons, Gale, Harvey, and Ottis Bass, all of McComb, and Carsie Bass, of Omaha, Nebr.; two brothers, Bud Bass, Monticello, and John Bass, Hazelhurst; two sisters, Mrs. Lula Robinson, Hazelhurst, and Mrs. Ida Whitaker, Monticello; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and many other relatives.

Burial was in Hollywood Cemetery with Catchings Funeral Home in charge of services.
