Bakersfield CA Morning Echo, Wednesday, March 6, 1918:
Mrs. Nancy C. Moomaw, a widow aged 67, residing one mile west of McFarland, died at her home Monday evening. The deceased leaves six children, five of which were living with her. One child is residing at La Verne. The body will be shipped to La Verne Thursday evening, where it will be laid beside her husband's body. Dixon and Flickinger are in charge of the arrangements in this city.
