Funeral services will be held at Central Baptist Church, 719 South Washington Ave, in Aspermont, Texas on Thursday, March 19th, at 2:00 pm.
Visitation will be held at Giles-McCoy Funeral Home, 1032 S Broadway in Aspermont, on Wednesday, March 18th 2020 5:00pm - 7:00pm.
Tommy was born on March 23rd 1956 in Rotan, Texas to Orthell and Martha (Jordan) McDowell. He graduated from Aspermont High School and began a career Operating heavy equipment with Ellison Dozers and then South Plains Electric. He married the love of his life, Rhonda Wood, in 1977. Tommy and Rhonda made their home and raised their two children in Aspermont.
Tommy was a hard working man devoted to his family and career. He loved watching his kids and grandkids in sports. He was proud of all his siblings and enjoyed spending time with family, tending his cattle, and telling all his favorite childhood stories.
Tommy is preceded in death by his father Orthell McDowell. He is survived by his wife, Rhonda McDowell of Aspermont, his son Brandon McDowell and wife Micah of Coleman, his daughter Brooke and husband Chris Murden of Granbury, his mother Martha McDowell of Aspermont, his sister Brenda and husband Brian Killough of La Grange, brother Terry McDowell and wife Melissa of San Angelo, brother Gerry McDowell and Wife Bridget of Abilene, grandsons Braylen and Jakob and granddaughters Erin, Camryn, and Chayse and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
