Mary Alice was born July 13, 1948 to Marion Clark and Mary Alice Cook Durfee in Tooele, UT. She was an unwavering faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She held many callings including positions in the Primary, Young Women’s, and Relief Society. She served as a librarian at the Grantsville Elementary, Jr. High, and High schools. She was a friend and mentor to many students and connected especially to those that required the most patience.
She married Leslie Gene “Les” Alldredge July 3, 1968. They later divorced. They had four children, Carrie (Jim) Morison, Cindy (Chad) King, Jeff (Larriann) Alldredge, and Patrick (Lindsay) Alldredge.
She is survived by all her children, her brother-in-law Llewelyn Wilder, brothers, Robert “Bob” (Joan) Durfee, Charles Glen “Butch” (Tommie Sue) Durfee, and Kenneth J. “Kenny” (Connie) Durfee. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Alaina (Sheldon) Chalk, Allie Alldredge, Oliver Alldredge, her great grandchildren, Capri, Cai, and Cohv Chalk and many nieces and nephews. Her family was the most important part of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Lois Wilder, Vendla “Bunny” (Don) Bennett, and Don Lee Durfee.
Her family would like to express our sincere appreciation to Dr. Carolyn Forbes and Cameron Dortch, NP at Valley Family Medicine for their diligent and loving care through the past years. Thank you also to Tooele City Police and Mountain West Medical Center EMS Services for their prompt response and service. We appreciate all doctors, nurses, and staff from MWMC, IMC, and all other facilities that offered Mary Alice excellent care.
In light of the current world health pandemic, a private viewing and funeral service will be held Friday March 20, 2020 by invitation only, starting at 10:00 am. Located at the LDS Chapel at 415 W. Apple St. Grantsville, UT 84029. A public graveside service will be held at the Grantsville Cemetery following the funeral at 12:30 pm. The graveside service is open to anyone who wishes to show their condolences. Funeral services provided with great care by Didericksen Memorial.
