Peggy Ledbetter of Lacey's Spring, was the daughter of the late "Preacher" Smith Edward and Elizabeth Jordan Ledbetter. Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Shirley Ledbetter; niece, Pamela Graves; nephew, Brockton Bell and his wife, Amanda, all of Lacey's Spring, and Jonathan Ledbetter of Atlanta; great-nieces and great-nephews, including Lawren Ledbetter, Mary, John, Hannah, and Thomas Graves, and Natilie and Timothy Bell. Peggy attended Lafayette Street School in Decatur, Marshall County High School in Guntersville, New Hope High School, Howard College in Samford, Birmingham Baptist Hospital School of Nursing, the University of Alabama, the University of Miami and the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. In retirement she became a parish nurse and was active in the stem cell support group. She participated in the Baptist Women's Group, Sunday school, choir, and vacation bible school at Bakers Chapel Baptist Church. She also served as the chair of the veterans committee in the heroes of King's Mountain chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, Marshall Boys chapter United Daughters of the Confederacy, Descendents of Valley Forge, United States Daughters of 1812, Magna Charta, Colonial Dames of 17th century, Colonial Dames Chapter VII, Daughters of the American Colonists, the Huguenot Society, the Virginia Society and the Order of the Eastern Star. The family expresses their immense gratitude to marshal Schreeder, M.D., Donna Jobe, R.N. and all the excellent people of Clearview Cancer Institute. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Baker's Chapel Baptist Church in Claysville.
