John Darst
MALDEN, Wash. - Funeral services were planned at Auburn, Wash., today for Dr. John Darst, 89, a former Malden physician, who died at Auburn, Sunday. Burial was to be at Sumner, Wash.
Dr. Darst died Sunday. He was born at Eureka, Ill., July 16, 1878, graduated from Rush Medical College at Chicago in 1903, interned at Cook County Hospital and did post-graduate work at Mayo Clinic, then came to Malden, Wash., in 1918. In 1925 he went to Auburn, where he practiced until 1960.
He was a member of Masons, IOOF and Knights of Pythias and a life member of the King County Medical Society and the American Medical Association.
His wife, Julia, in 1961. Surviving are a son, John P., Olympia; two daughters, Mrs. Maude Bennett and Mrs. Jeanette Gill, both of Olympia; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Wilkin, Arlington, Tex; one brother, Wilmer Darst, Galesburg, Ill.; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
