Maurice Taylor passed away peacefully at home on the evening of May 30th, 2021.

She was born to Thomas and Urshal Keaton on December 28, 1938 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She was the 7th of 10 children.

Maurice married the love of her life Richard Taylor on April 20, 1959, to the surprise of her family who did not find out they were married until 2 years later when they announced they were moving to Kansas. Their only child Cynthia was born on March 24, 1962. Maurice enjoyed a full life from a ladies bowling league, to sliding into a train with her car and even getting bucked off a pony years later. She also very much enjoyed her coffee and cigarettes. Her working life spanned from firing dishes at the Corning Ware plant, to working for and retiring from Bakersfield City Schools District.

Maurice was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Urshal, her husband Richard, her siblings Tommy, Kenneth, Laverne, Dorothy and Carol. She is survived by her daughter Cynthia King and her husband Garrick. Her granddaughters Taylor King, Lynn Woods and her husband Ryan. Her great granddaughter Grace Oakley Woods. Her sister Juanita Griffith and brothers Vachel, Mike and Ron Keaton. In-laws and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2021 from 9am-1pm. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021 at 2pm at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 9101 Kern Canyon Rd. Bakersfield, CA. 93306.
