Phyllis Hagenbuch, 94, of Berwick, died Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at the Gardens at Orangeville.

Born Oct. 12, 1925, in Berwick, she was the daughter of the late Heber and Jennie (Shelhamer) Harmon.

A graduate of Berwick High School, Class of 1943, Mrs. Hagenbuch went on to own the former Phil and Ruth’s Grocery on Seventh and Chestnut streets in Berwick, with her husband, Philip.

Phyllis was a life member of Bower Memorial United Methodist Church, Berwick.

Preceding her in death were her husband of 65 years, Philip Hagenbuch, whom she married Nov. 27, 1947; her son, James Hagenbuch; two sisters: Etta Lindenmuth and Geneva Taylor; and her brother, Robert Harmon.

Surviving are her daughter, Louise Hagenbuch, of Berwick; four grandchildren: Jennifer Campbell and her husband, Chas, of Berwick, Brian Hagenbuch of Berwick, Autumn Bayoumi and her companion, Jason Seward, of Bloomsburg, and Staff Sergeant Eric Jason Frantz and his wife, Samantha, of Georgia; six great-grandchildren; her brother, Roland Harmon of Tennessee; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, March 17, 2020, from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. at Mayo Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Chestnut St., Berwick, with Pastor Wanda Minnick, her pastor, officiating.

Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Berwick.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bower Memorial U.M. Church, 140 E. Second St., Berwick, PA, 18603.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Mayo Funeral Home, Inc.
