Lord Charles Seymour was the third son of Charles Seymour, 6th Duke of Somerset and his first wife, born Lady Elizabeth Percy, heiress of the Percy Earls of Northumberland. He was originally buried in St. Nicholas' Chapel in Westminster Abbey on January 8, 1711, but "His remains and those of his brother Percy were removed to Salisbury Cathedral, 14 Dec 1722." The burial and reburial are referenced in The Marriage, Baptismal, and Burial Registers of the Collegiate Church or Abbey of St. Peter, Westminster, Volume 10, page 271 (edited and annotated by Joseph Samuel Chester).
